Help! What do I wear?

Please wear something that you feel totally yourself in and fits well. If you feel comfortable and confident in your outfit, you're much more likely to appear so in your photos! I strive to take photos that glimpse sparks of individuality and genuine emotions, and it helps if you wear something you love.

That being said, I recommend avoiding loose strings and stained or damaged clothing for portraits. If it needs to be ironed, please iron it. Please be mindful of colors and patterns--generally polka dots, plaid, and stripes can be okay when paired with clean lines. Also, please dress appropriately for the weather! Since many sessions involve walking from point to point, please make appropriate footwear choices and be mindful that we may be walking up stairs, through grass, and in the woods.

Ultimately, just remember to dress as yourself--it is who you are that I'm photographing and I want you to feel comfortable in what you're wearing because you're awesome.

How will I receive my photos?

I will give you access to all of your final photos via Dropbox. Once they are uploaded, you may print, send out, and post them. I will give you a photography release form if you plan to print your images through a company like Walgreen's.

What are your prices?

I strive to keep my prices accessible while acknowledging the worth of the high quality images and experience I provide. For more info about the cost of a session, please see the "pricing" page.

How many photos will I receive with my session?

Number of images per session will depend on the type of session you book. All images will be edited and I do not give clients raw photos.  If you have specific pose or edit requests I will try my best to accommodate them. I will also give you the color version of any black and white image, too. If you're trying to coordinate your photos with a sibling's done by a different photographer, I need to see those images so I can best coordinate them color wise, tone wise etc, but cannot promise to match them perfectly. I can do basic photoshop touch ups as needed and requested, but if you are looking for seriously photoshopped images, I am probably not the photographer you want to be working with.

What are your newborn sessions like and why are they so long?

I find that it can be helpful to take newborn sessions slowly and account for time to set up, chat, feed babies, and get to know each other. Longer sessions allow for us to have time to settle your newborn and for you to not feel rushed (calmer parents = calmer babies). During a newborn session, we will use natural window light, a blanket, and a reflector to photograph your baby. A newborn photo session will involve some posed photographs of your baby, but I also include documentary style images of parents and siblings holding their newborn and details like hands and feet. I will provide a white or cream colored blanket to use as a backdrop, but if you have a special blanket(s) you'd like to use, that's wonderful.
